Checkout says shipping is not available after I hid a rate
When a Delivery Customization hides every rate a customer could get — all rates of their zone, or all rates in Show only mode that match nothing — Shopify has no shipping option left. Checkout then shows that shipping is not available for the address, and the customer cannot finish the order.
Typical causes
Section titled “Typical causes”- A hide rule with Contains text that is too broad (e.g. “PPL” hides “PPL” and “PPL – dobírka”, the only two rates of the zone).
- A Show only rule whose names do not match the zone’s rates.
- A rule meant for one country, without a Shipping country condition.
- Keep at least one rate in every zone the rule applies to — e.g. a pickup or a prepaid rate.
- Narrow the rule with a condition (country, order value, products) or a more specific name.
- Check it in your test storefront before you activate it (How do I test a rule?).
If you use Payflow’s AI assistant, it refuses a rule that would hide every rate without any condition, and warns when a rule with conditions can empty a zone — when it creates a rule and when it checks your rules.
